Alleged Sex Offender Reviewing Plea Deal

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Town man charged with multiple felony sex charges wants more time to review a plea deal.

Cory J. Ketcham, 36, of Rathburn Road, was charged last September with (felonies) first- and second-degree rape, predatory sexual assault on a child (two counts), and criminal sexual act and (misdemeanors) sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He allegedly had sexual contact with a female relative multiple times between 2008 and 2010.

He is also facing federal charges, due to child pornography allegedly found in his possession.

If Ketcham pleads guilty to one of the counts of predatory assault against a child, it would satisfy the other six counts in the indictment, according to the DA’s office.

In Oswego County Court Thursday, Ketcham requested additional time to talk to the attorney representing him in federal court.

Citing a pre-plea investigation report, Oswego County Court Judge Walt Hafner noted the defendant has been “using marijuana and cocaine since age 13 and 14. And, I guess what’s most repulsive in the report is the fact that the defendant expresses no remorse referring to the 10 or 11 year old victim as a vindictive little bitch.”

“My client was misunderstood,” defense attorney Joe Pagano said. “He is remorseful every day.”

“If he wants to enter a plea, based upon the information in this report, I’ll promise him a 15 (years) to life sentence,” Hafner told Pagano.

“My client tells me that there should be a possible resolution (of the federal charges) toward the end of February,” Pagano said. “My client wants to talk with his federal attorney.”

Ketcham is scheduled to be back in Oswego County Court on Feb. 24. missing or outdated ad config
