Another ship has been found and identified at the bottom of Lake Ontario.

Rochester area explorer Jim Kennard and Texas engineer Dan Scoville found the wreck of the steamer Samuel F. Hodge off Oak Orchard, a community between Rochester and Buffalo.

They first discovered the hull of the ship, which caught fire and sank in 1896, while searching for another ship in 2007. They came back with a remote vehicle that took very clear pictures of the hull of the ship. Using shipwreck records, they narrowed the list of possible shipwrecks to just one, the Hodge.
