Attempted Robbery Investigated In Oswego

OSWEGO, NY – At approximately 1:57 p.m. today (March 15), Oswego City Police responded to an assault complaint in the area of 310 Walnut St.

The 50-year-old female victim reported that as she was retrieving items from her vehicle, she turned around and was immediately struck in the face by an unknown suspect.

As a result of being struck, the victim fell to the ground and at that time the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The Oswego City Police Department is continuing to investigate and at this time it appears the suspect intended to steal the victim’s vehicle.

Nothing was stolen from the victim, who suffered minor injuries consisting of bruising.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5’5” tall, thin build, wearing an olive green jacket, possibly with a hooded sweatshirt underneath.
