Budweiser International Classic is a Go, Grandstands Set to Open at 1:30

UPDATE 11 a.m.

OSWEGO, NY (August 31, 2014) – After a holding pattern of more than four hours, rain has stopped in the Port City of Oswego, allowing Oswego Speedway officials to set a plan for today’s 58th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200.

Pits gates will officially open at 11:30 a.m., with grandstand gates opening at 1:30 p.m.

With track drying efforts underway, officials are hoping to have hot laps on the Speedway at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Once hot laps begin, the day’s action will not stop.  Officials have said that the program will move from hot laps, directly to the afternoon’s event schedule, meaning spectators are encouraged to be at the Speedway by 1:30 p.m.

UPDATE 10 a.m.

OSWEGO, NY (August 31, 2014) – The 58th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway is still on hold, as light rain continues to fall in the Oswego area.

Speedway officials made the determination at 6:30 a.m. to freeze the originally announced schedule, opting to announce a new schedule plan at 10 a.m.

However, continued light rain has forced officials to push the time table back for a schedule announcement until Noon, as a firm schedule cannot be formulated until the rain stops.

Optimism remains that the front will push through Oswego in due time, allowing for a full time table to get the entire program for this year’s running of the Budweiser International Classic in on Sunday.

The full Sunday schedule would call for second round time trials and at least the Bud Light B-Main, to lock the final set of cars into the 34 car starting lineup for the Classic.
