Bus Drop-Off, Pick-Up Procedure, Traffic Patterns At OHS Change This Year

OSWEGO – The Oswego City School District has announced major changes to its Oswego High School bus loading and unloading procedure for the upcoming 2017-18 school year.

Beginning September 6, OHS buses will be loaded and unloaded in the parking lot east of the high school between OHS and Liberty Street. In previous years buses were loaded and unloaded on Buccaneer Boulevard.

Vehicles will no longer be able to enter the Liberty Street parking lot from Utica Street as that route is now one-way and reserved for traffic exiting the parking lot. Vehicles will only be able to enter the Liberty Street parking lot from Buc Boulevard.

Additionally, Buc Boulevard between OHS and Liberty Street will be changed to a two-way street. Previously, Buc Boulevard had only allowed one-way traffic in that area.

Officials said the changes were necessary to facilitate an easier flow of traffic on campus and for safety reasons.
