Ciappa named Oswego County Board Member of the Year

OSWEGO – With six years of service to the Oswego City School District under his belt, Tom Ciappa was recently recognized by the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation as the Oswego County Board Member of the Year.

The recognition came during CiTi BOCES’ annual meeting in April. Ciappa, who is finishing up his second term on the OCSD Board of Education and vying for another, said he was honored to receive the award and that he hopes his service makes an impact on the community.

“I became a board member out of a sense of civic responsibility and to make a difference if I could,” Ciappa said. “My greatest hope for students is that we can give them the skills, confidence, and sense of self they will need to thrive in a world that is rapidly changing.”

Ciappa will be honored at the Central New York School Boards Association annual meeting. missing or outdated ad config
