OSWEGO – The City of Oswego is informing residents that despite the approaching effective date of December 1st, the annual Winter Parking Ban will not be implemented at this time. City officials will continue to closely monitor local weather conditions and forecasts and will only enact the parking ban if and when it becomes necessary to ensure roadway safety and efficient snow removal. Mayor Robert A. Corradino emphasized the City’s proactive approach: “While we hope for a mild start to the winter season, we remain prepared to adjust as conditions change. Residents can be confident that the City will provide notice should the Winter Parking Ban need to be put into effect.” If the ban is initiated, the City of Oswego will issue an official announcement through:

•Press releases,

•City social media, and

•The City’s text alert system, TextMyGov

Residents are encouraged to stay connected to receive information across all platforms.

Reminder: On-Street Winter Parking Permit Application Deadline — December 1st

As a reminder, residents wishing to apply for an On-Street Winter Parking Permit must do so by December 1, 2025. The application can be accessed directly from the main page of the City of Oswego website at: www.oswegony.gov

These permit applications allow eligible residents to be considered for on-street parking on designated city streets during the winter season and help ensure that vehicles do not hinder snow removal efforts.

The City thanks all residents for their cooperation and patience during the winter months. Together, we will remain prepared and focused on maintaining safe and navigable streets throughout the season.
