OSWEGO – The City of Oswego is notifying residents and motorists that the new traffic signal installation at the intersection of West First Street and Utica Street has been completed, and the new traffic pattern is now officially in effect.
The traffic signal was successfully installed throughout the day yesterday, and motorists should be aware that traffic flow and patterns at this intersection have changed. Due to these changes, drivers are urged to exercise extra caution, remain attentive, and obey all posted signage and signal indications when traveling through the area.
City officials emphasize that while the signal is new, the more significant change is the updated traffic pattern, which may require drivers to adjust their usual driving habits. Motorists should reduce speeds, watch for other vehicles and pedestrians, and allow extra time when navigating the intersection during this adjustment period.
The City of Oswego appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as the community adapts to these improvements, which are intended to enhance safety and traffic flow.
