OSWEGO – Instructions: Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before using. Alternatively, you may use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
What Happened? At approximately 11pm on August 7, 2025, the water system experienced a loss of pressure due to a water main break. When water mains lose pressure, there is an increased risk that untreated water and harmful microbes may enter the water supply.
Harmful microbes in drinking water can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms
and may pose a special health risk for infants, some elderly, and people with severely compromised
immune systems. But these symptoms are not just caused by microbes in drinking water. If you
experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you should seek medical advice.
What is being done? Crews are on scene to make the repairs. It is likely that you will need to boil water from 11pm August 7, 2025 until repairs are completed. You will be informed via public media.
