OSWEGO – The City of Oswego will host events on Thursday, September 11, 2025 to honor and remember the lives lost on 9/11/01. The events will include a Sunrise Silent Procession and a Remembrance Ceremony. The Sunrise Silent Procession will start at 6:30am at the intersection of East Bridge and East 4th Streets, traveling west on Bridge Street to West Second Street, ending by passing the Oswego Police Department Headquarters.

This Sunrise Silent Procession features emergency vehicles from area fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency medical service agencies. Vehicles will display emergency lights, but no sirens as a tribute to the fallen. Emergency vehicle lineup will be on East Bridge Street on the west shoulder, starting at East 4th Street. Those in uniform wishing to pay respects but not in vehicles should line the Bridge Street Bridge on the North sidewalk. Members of the public should line the South sidewalk of the bridge.

The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony will start at 8:30am at the Oswego Fire Department Headquarters, located at 35 East Cayuga Street, City of Oswego. This annual ceremony serves as an opportunity for our community to honor and remember the fallen, ensuring their legacies are never forgotten. Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend both the Sunrise Silent Procession and Remembrance Ceremony. A reception following the ceremony will be held at the John D. Murray Firefighters Museum, located behind Oswego Fire Department Headquarters.
