Family Fun Walk for Autism Scheduled April 27

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego County Autism Task Force is sponsoring its seventh annual Family Fun Walk for Autism on April 27.

The family – friendly event will take place at Leighton School and Wilber Field and Track in Oswego, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

You may choose to participate in the organized 3-mile walk on Wilber Track, let the kids of all ages enjoy a variety of activities provided by local agencies and learn more about Autism and resources available in Oswego County.

We will have inflatables, face painting, crafts and a bubble area for all to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

Show your team spirit by designing your own team T-shirt – you may win a prize for “most creative!”

There will also be prizes award to both the individual and the team who raise the most money in pledges.

This fun-filled day is a fundraiser for the Autism Task Force and will assist the organization with its mission to provide information and engage in social activities that relate to enhancing the lives of those touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder in Oswego County.

The Task Force is also seeking nominations for its 2013 “Friend of Autism Award,” which will be announced at the event.

The recipient who is selected must be an Oswego County community member who lives or works in the county.

The winner may be an individual or a group and / or agency; however they may not be a current member of the OCATF.

Is there someone that has gone above and beyond their daily routine to help enhance the lives of people affected by autism?

How about an individual showing a special interest in learning how to better communicate or interact with someone with autism?

Do you know a teacher or therapist that has done extensive research to broaden their knowledge of autism?
