OSWEGO, NY – On Aug. 16 and 17, Cushing’s Battery, 4th U.S. Artillery Regiment, will host a Civil War artillery event at Fort Ontario State Historic Site in Oswego. Re-enactors will conduct tactical weapons demonstrations or battles both days at 1 p.m.

The Civil War shopping mall will be open for those wishing to acquire reproduction period clothing, knick knacks, toys, and other interesting historical items or accoutrements. Regular admission will be charged.
The fort will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The fort will be closed Saturday evening, but the artillerists will conduct artillery firing from the ramparts and grounds east of the fort. The public is welcome to watch and listen from a safe distance south of the fort. Re-enactors will depart on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Fort Ontario State Historic Site is located at the north end of East Fourth Street in the city of Oswego.
