Hannibal Man Robbed at Gunpoint, Shot Reportedly Fired

OSWEGO – On Saturday night (July 30), members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the Oswego hospital emergency room where a man was reporting that he was the victim of a robbery involving a firearm and that he had been possibly shot in the head.

The investigation has revealed that the man, Charles G. Wallis, 55, of  Country Lane mobile home park, Hannibal, was at his residence when two men entered the residence with at least one, possibly two firearms, police said.

The victim was ordered into a closet where he was struck on the head and one round from a firearm was discharged, according to the police report.

An undetermined amount of money was stolen from the victim and both suspects fled the scene, possibly in a gray or silver sedan.

The investigation into this robbery is ongoing.
