OSWEGO –Haborfest Executive Director Dan Harrington spoke during last night’s Oswego Common Council meeting, thanking the city for their ongoing support of the yearly four-day festival; celebrating the diversity, musical entertainment and economic impact the event brings to the area.

“Harborfest is great for the community in many ways. It brings people together to enjoy plenty of free class acts such as Santana, the Four Seasons and so on – and this year will be no different,” Harrington said. “It provides plenty of free activities for the children such as The Bubble Man, Novelis Slime Fun and many other activities. This year we have booked a nationally known entertainment group – Peppa Pig, who will perform on Lakeview stage right after the Children’s Parade. It draws thousands of people to view the world-known Grucci Fireworks, plus much, much more.”

“This year Harborfest is still trying to recuperate from the loss of not having the festival in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. With having class-act entertainment and less scare of COVID, more people are getting out for public gatherings – with the support from the city, we will be able to book a nationally known entertainment for Friday’s next main performance. Going forward after this year, Harborfest will financially be back to where we should be before COVID hit us,” Harrington said.

After public session, the Council went on to vote during the core body of the session. Last night’s meeting was brief, with 10 resolutions passing unanimously, and one resolution that passed by a margin of 6-1.
