OSWEGO, NY — Roseanne Phillips-Bar Stewart recently coordinated a breast cancer awareness event in support of Oswego County Opportunities’ (OCO) Cancer Services Program of the North Country. The event raised $1,100. IOOB #1647 of Fairdale generously matched that amount and donated an additional $1,100 for a total of $2,200.

“We appreciate the thoughtfulness of Rosie and the graciousness of IOOB #1647 for their honorable donation,” said Program Coordinator Carolyn Handville. “It’s rewarding to know that work we do to provide cancer services that are vitally needed in our county is being recognized. Their donations will help cover clinical breast exams, mammograms and/or breast ultrasounds for approximately 40 uninsured women that otherwise would not have been able to obtain screenings.”

OCO’s Cancer Program of the North Country provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap/pelvic exams and colon cancer screenings to uninsured men and woman throughout Oswego, Lewis, Jefferson and St Lawrence Counties. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, contact the Cancer Services Program at 315-592-0830.
