Jack Brandt recommended for Appointment to Oswego County Legislature

OSWEGO, NY – Today (Jan. 25) in consultation with the town Republican committee’s in Hastings and Schroeppel, the Oswego County Republican Committee is proud to announce the recommendation of Jack Brandt to the Oswego County Legislature.

Brandt is an attorney with deep ties throughout legislative district twelve. He has most recently served as a town justice in Schroeppel.

“I am honored that the committee members selected me to fill this seat long held by Art Ospelt” said Brandt. “He was a true pillar of our community and a strong advocate for our area.  I look forward to working with the community to continue that strong tradition of public service.”

“Jack is a passionate and committed member of our town and I think he’ll serve this community well on the legislature,” said town of Schroeppel Republican chair Carl Richardson. “As town justice, Jack brought some new initiatives to the court and I know he’ll do the same in this new role.”

“It is always my pleasure to work with the local town committee’s and in this case several committee members from two different towns,” said Michael C. Backus, chairman of the Oswego County Republican Committee. “The committee members interviewed Mr. Brandt and voted to recommend him for appointment to the legislature.”

Backus continued, “Jack is certainly stepping into a challenging environment where he’ll  immediately need to get up to speed on where the legislature is at with the county budget and all other aspects of the legislature. He is stepping into the shoes of a man who knew the county well from a variety of perspectives. There is no way to replace an Art Ospelt, but I know Jack will do his very best to represent his constituents with the same vigor that his predecessor did for so many years.”
