Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival To Feature Boats For Sale

OSWEGO – People coming to the Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival will not only see some classic ships, they’ll also be able to buy boats on display from two area marinas. The new Case Marina in Baldwinsville and FLX Marine of Union Springs and Canandaigua will display a variety of the boats for sale. The festival takes place Saturday, May 20. from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at the end of West First Street Pier, Oswego. Admission to the festival is free of charge.

“Our festival isn’t just about reliving the great stories of the region’s maritime past. It’s also a way for people to make their own stories and buying a boat to enjoy the greatest of the Great Lakes is the best way to make that happen,” said Mercedes Niess, Maritime Museum Executive Director.

Case Marina is brand new, taking over in the spot where Cooper’s Marine did business for decades. Case will bring four boats to the festival, pontoon boats from Bentley and Qwest Pontoons ideal for either family and party trips or fishing excursions and loaded with extras to add enjoyment and comfort to the voyage. “It’s our first event as a new company and we’re very excited to be part of it,” said Steve Case of Case Marina.

FLX Marine is a 150-slip marina at the north end of Cayuga Lake in Union Springs and a full-service authorized dealership for nine major boat brands: Monterey, Crest Pontoons, ATX Wake Boats, Tige Wake Boats, Pioneer Center Consoles, Ranger Tugs, Mercury/Mercruiser, Suzuki, and Yamaha..

The Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival features onboard and dockside tours of famous ships, including the tug LT-5, which was part of the Normandy invasion of World War II as well as the last commercial fishing vessel on Lake Ontario and an under-construction replica of an 1800’s sailing schooner. The festival also includes low-cost tours of Oswego’s famous lighthouse, the unveiling of a new addition to the museum’s gallery, new boats for sale on display, children’s activities including the Happy Pirates, and more.
