Lew Soloff, Former BS&T Musician Joins With Oswego Jazz Ensemble Friday Night

OSWEGO, NY – This Friday evening is one of the major musical events of the year.

An “Evening of Big Band Jazz” will showcase the Oswego Middle School Jazz Band as well as the Oswego High School A and B Jazz Ensembles.

This year’s featured guest will be Lew Soloff who is known for his performances with Blood, Sweat and Tears.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Oswego High School Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Soloff will be performing with the Jazz Ensemble “A” group and will play “Angel Eyes,” “Marilyn” and “Spinning Wheel” along with “Lucretia Mac Evil.”

Soloff’s appearance is made possible by a BOCES Arts in Education grant, the Oswego City School District and the Oswego High School Band Parents Association.

The members of the Jazz  “A” group include Kyrstin Blackburn, Michael Farden, Alex Todd, Gina Bartholomew, Emily King, Tory Welsch, Evelyn Horan, Emily Rumrill, Katherine Robinson, Michael Gill, Justin Abbott, Drake Becksted, James DeBiase, Michael Phillips, Anthony Miuccio, Jeff Murray and Aaron Berlin.

The “B” ensemble consists of Mike Garden, Anne Reynolds, Austin Jackson, Nicholas Sheary, Alex Carl, Gina Bartholomew, Paige Gray, Katherine Schermerhorn, Kyrstin Blackburn, Jordan Ketcham, Justin Abbott, Thomas Godfrey, Dan Cliff, James DeBiase, Steven Hill, Jonathan Cuyler, Antony Miuccio, Paul Gamble, Seamus Darrow and Marikate Lamb.
