Oswego’s Marching Buccaneers posted their best score of the field band season Saturday night at West Genesee.
The Bucs posted a score of 83.30 for its show, called “The Search”.
Central Square finished just above the Bucs, while Phoenix, in the Small Schools 2 class, scored 73.75. Both scores were strong improvements over their last performance scores.
The scores from the National class at West Genesee:
- Victor 89.95
- Liverpool 88.05
- Cicero-North Syracuse 85.25
- Central Square 84.90
- Oswego 83.30
Host West Genesee marched for exhibition only.
Oswego’s score represents a solid gain for the unit, improving by 9 points from its season opening score of 74.25 at Jordan-Elbridge. The Marching Bucs have closed much of the gap with their counterparts in the National class.
Only Liverpool, with a 10 point gain from the start of the season, has done better.
The Marching Bucs perform again Saturday in New Hartford, against traditional powers West Genesee and Cicero-North Syracuse.
