Marine Incident in Oswego Harbor

OSWEGO – Oswego Firefighters responded to a marine incident in Oswego Harbor involving a vessel that struck the breakwall due to an apparent mechanical issue.

Oswego Fire Department marine units responded to the scene and confirmed that all occupants were accounted for and uninjured. The occupants were able to take temporary refuge on the breakwall and were safely transported to shore by Oswego Fire Department marine units.

The United States Coast Guard is coordinating with a local marine salvage company to secure the vessel and arrange for its removal from the breakwall.

The Oswego Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Oswego Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard-Station Oswego, and Menter Ambulance.
