The City of Oswego held the inauguration ceremony at noon on January 1, 2024, at City Hall to a full capacity crowd at Oswego City Hall in the Common Council Chambers. Mayor Robert A. Corradino and city court judge Timothy J. Kirwan were sworn in along with the Common Council.
The councilor’s term is for 2 years, and they are:
- First Ward- Kyle C. Walton
- Second Ward – Shawn Burridge
- Third Ward – Jesse V. Vanucchi
- Fourth Ward – Shawn P. Walker
- Fifth Ward – John B. Gosek
- Sixth Ward – Timothy P. Plunkett
- Seventh Ward – Peter F. Allen
City Historian Mark J. Slosek shared remarks about the history of Oswego.
The Honorable New York State Supreme Court Judge Gregory R. Gilbert administered the oath of office.
The invocation was offered by Father John Canorro of Christ the Good Shepherd.
A short meeting was held after the ceremony to address the normal beginning of the year items.
Councilor Plunkett was elected Common Council President and Councilor Burridge was elected Vice-President for the 2024 legislative year.

In Mayor Corradino’s remarks, he talked about the progress that the city has made during the last 8 years in our community and about the bright future. He went on to say that the city has never looked better, people have pride in our city once again and generally believe that our community is in a great place now and heading in the right direction. He will work hard to help continue that momentum and progress.
However, he cannot do this alone as it will take everyone’s help. Along with the Common Council and the dedicated employees of the city, we can accomplish much as we serve the residents of our community. No doubt there will be challenges, but nothing we can’t overcome if we all work together.
Working together we can continue to make Oswego a great place to live, work and play!
