OSWEGO – A Mexico man has been charged in connection with the candy tampering incident on Halloween.
At 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, sheriff’s deputies charged Jeffrey C. Beardslee, 58, of 26 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.
The arrest stems from an investigation where rocks were found inside a candy box by parents of a trick-or-treater.
Beardslee allegedly tampered with Halloween candy in the town of Mexico.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Mexico Court on Nov. 27.
