OSWEGO – Due to ongoing social distancing regulations in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, Compass Federal Credit Union will not be visiting Oswego City School District schools in 2020-2021 as part of its Bank at School program.

However, Compass FCU has developed a modified version of the program which will allow students to still take part in this real-world banking experience.

Students will have three options to take part in this year’s program including in person deposits at any Compass FCU location, mail in deposits, or via the night deposit boxes located at the Compass locations at 208 N. 2nd St. in Fulton and on 131 George St. in Oswego.

Students that choose to visit a Compass FCU branch will be able to select a prize. Once each month, Compass will also conduct a drawing for three $20 gift cards, among all participating students.

Compass reminds parents that the credit union does have a dormancy policy in effect for inactive accounts. Should a student’s account become inactive for over one year, there will be a $5 monthly fee, assessed at the end of each month, until the account is active. Any questions in regards to this policy can be directed to Margie Sincavage at (315) 342-5300.

Compass looks forward to continuing the tradition of its Bank at School program, albeit modified in 2020-2021, as the credit union helps students in all grade levels understand the importance of saving money.
