OSWEGO – Oswego Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6:35 p.m. Thursday on 229 Syracuse Ave.

On arrival, Oswego FD command (Capt. McCullough, DC Engle) reported smoke showing and fire near the electrical service on the side of the house, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Two personnel from the ladder truck company (FF Kapuscinski, FF Zalewski, FF Natoli) entered the structure and performed a primary search for trapped victims.
Two personnel from the engine company (Lt. Conzone, FF Hartle, FF Wingard) also entered the structure to assess conditions on the first floor and basement.
National Grid was called to the scene to secure the electrical service.
The fire was extinguished and crews had to removed portions of interior walls and exterior siding to check for extension.
The electrical service was heavily damaged and the home also sustained minor smoke damage.
No injuries were reported.
All personnel were back in service after about an hour.
OFD personnel were assisted at the scene by the Oswego Police Department, National Grid, and by the Oswego County Fire Coordinators office.
