OPD Reminds Motorists: Click It … Or Ticket

Submitted by Oswego City Police Department

OSWEGO, NY – Throughout this holiday weekend, the Oswego Police Department will be assisting in the state-wide campaign to aggressively enforce the seatbelt laws in an effort to gain compliance.

The effort will be particularly focused locally around the upcoming Veteran’s Day weekend and throughout the holiday season.

The Oswego Police Department will be using grant money obtained through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee program “Buckle Up New York” (BUNY) to detail officers to specifically enforce the New York State Safety Belt Laws.

Increasing seat belt and child safety seat use is the most effective way to reduce crash-related injuries and fatalities.

Buckle Up New York, Click It… Or Ticket, is a statewide, zero-tolerance enforcement effort coordinated by the State Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee to increase safety restraint use in New York State.

We wish to remind everyone to buckle up, drive carefully and to have a safe and happy holiday. missing or outdated ad config
