Open House Set For Proposed Pulaski Bridge Rehabilitation

PULASKI – The New York State Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on November 6 regarding a bridge rehabilitation project on Route 11 over the Salmon River in the village of Pulaski.

The open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pulaski Fire Department, 12 Lake St.

Preliminary drawings for the upcoming project will be available for review and representatives from NYSDOT will be present to answer questions.

No formal presentation is planned.

Preliminary plans call for replacing the bridge joints, steel and concrete repairs and installing a new wearing surface.

The joint replacement process requires all traffic to be off the bridge for 30 days, so a detour using state Route 13 and county routes 2 and 2A will be in effect during this time.

This bridge rehabilitation work is scheduled to take place during the 2015 construction season; contract documents will include the requirement that all work be completed by September 1, in time for the annual salmon run.

This open house is part of the continuing effort by the department to encourage public participation in the development of transportation projects.

The Pulaski Fire Department is handicapped accessible.

Please contact Kurt Bower, P.E. at (315) 428–4810 if a sign language interpreter, assisted listening system or other accommodation will be required to facilitate your participation in the open house.
