New Year’s Eve is undoubtedly one of the biggest nights of the year for drinking.
As you celebrate the ending of 2015 and ring in 2016, please be sure to make safe choices regarding your transportation.
While it has circulated on social media that AAA offers a Holiday Safe Ride Program, a AAA representative has confirmed that Western and Central New York, including Oswego County, do not participate in this program.
However, there are many options in the Oswego and Fulton area to ensure you get to and from your New Year’s celebrations safely.
1) Fulton Taxi Services (Fulton, NY)
Fulton Taxi will run all night on New Year’s Eve. Based in Fulton, rides are available to and from Oswego to Fulton, but they will not be able to transport people from one place to another within Oswego. Regular rates will apply and the company is generally able to fit five people in one trip.

2) Nu Cab (Fulton, NY)
Nu Cab of Fulton will run 24 hours. Based in Fulton, the Nu Cab will transport people to and from Oswego to Fulton, but will not be able to transport people from one place to another within Oswego. Regular rates will apply and Nu Cab can fit up to 7-8 people maximum in a trip.

3) Oswego D Bus (Oswego, NY)
The Oswego D Bus will start transporting around 8p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The buses are able to accommodate up to 20 passengers and make only local trips within the city of Oswego. The New Year’s Eve rate will be $2 per person for groups of three people or more. The buses will run until the bars close, however, if the night is slow for transportation needs, the bus may not run all night and will close early.

4) Lake City Taxi (Oswego, NY)
Lake City Taxi will run until 4a.m. on New Year’s Eve. Although this taxi service will not pick up from outside of city limits, they will transport from within city limits to outside the city. Regular rates will apply and Lake City Taxi can fit a maximum group of seven people.

5) Ontario Taxi (Oswego, NY)
Ontario Taxi is a one-man taxi service that will be running until 4a.m. on New Year’s Eve. This taxi driver asks that anyone in need of a ride be patient as he is only one person but will never leave anyone without a ride. The rate will be $2 per mile inside city limits. Ontario Taxi will run outside of city limits if needed, but is fairly unfamiliar and you will need to be able to provide directions. You can call or text the provided number if you need transportation.
