OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Children’s Theater will present the classic children’s play “The Blue Bird” the first two weekends in December.

The Bluebird tells the tale of two children who set out on Christmas Eve on a quest to find the Bluebird of Happiness.

They are sent on this quest by their neighbor, Mrs. Beryl, who also happens to be their fairy godmother.

She tells them that she needs the bird to cure her daughter, Annie, of a chronic disease.

To help them to do this the fairy godmother gives the children a magical hat that can transform everyday inanimate objects into walking and talking beings.

Along the way the children visit various magical places searching for the bird, and in the end, of course, find it back where they started, back at home.

The Blue Bird was written by Wayne Mosher Jr. with music and lyrics also by Mosher.

The show is an updated version of the classic children’s play “L`Oiseau Bleu” originally written in French by the Belgian playwright Maurice Maeterlinck.

Wayne and Kelly Mosher will direct this production.

The show is slated to be performed on Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 2 p.m. at the Frances Marion Brown Theater at Fort Ontario.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students.
