Oswego City Drug Task Force Executed A Search Warrant Resulting In Arrests On East Second Street

OSWEGO, NY – On August 24, 2023, at about 10:30 am, the Oswego City Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a E Second St residence regarding an ongoing narcotics investigation. As a result of the search warrant, investigators located and seized over seven (7) ounces of powder cocaine in bulk, 5 grams of crack cocaine in individual packaging and $3,400 in cash.

As a result of their investigation and search, investigators charged the following individuals with:

Michael W. Alexander age 44 of Oswego

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a A-II felony

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony

Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the first degree, a class D felony

Malik W. Alexander age 23 of Rochester

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a A-II felony

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony

Phillip L. Jones age 36 of Rochester

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a A-II felony

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony

All three were arraigned in Oswego City Court and released on pretrial supervision.

“Once again, bail reform is alive and well, hampering local law enforcement’s ability to get drugs off the streets as these criminals were immediately released. Regardless, I commend the continued great work of the City of Oswego Drug Task Force and all officers in the Oswego Police Department.” stated Mayor Billy Barlow.
