MEXICO, NY – Oswego County BOCES welcomed its newest board of education member, Sally Nettles.
Nettles, representing Oswego City School District on the nine-member component board, took the oath of office at the July meeting.
Nettles, a life-long resident of Oswego, retired in 2004 from Oswego County BOCES after 34 years as a teacher in the Special Education Department.
Since retiring, she continues working in the field of education volunteering in local elementary schools and promoting reading, writing, and English speaking skills as a literacy volunteer.
In addition, Nettles served on the board of education for the Oswego City School District from 2005-08.
Nettles resides in Oswego with her husband, George, a retired Oswego police officer who currently works for New York State’s Department of Environment Conservation.
Nettles will serve a three-year term on the BOCES Board of Education.
