Oswego County Drug Task Force Launches Facebook Page

OSWEGO – The Oswego County Drug Force Task Force recently launched a Facebook page to inform the public about issues involving illegal drug use in Oswego County.

The page can be accessed at https://www.facebook.com/OCDTF

“We will be using the Facebook page to provide information to the public on various issues regarding controlled substances,” said District Attorney Greg Oakes. “For instance, the site presently has information regarding heroin, including a description of its appearance, and the manner that it is typically used.  We also provide information regarding the health risks posed by this dangerous substance.”

The page also lists local agencies that offer treatment for substance abuse problems.

“We are providing this information to assist parents who suspect that a child may be using certain types of drugs, but may not know what to look for,” said Oakes. “Hopefully, when armed with accurate information, parents can help their children make healthy and legal choices.”

The Facebook page also provides information for reporting the suspected sales of drugs within the county.

To report criminal activity or share information, e-mail [email protected] or call the Drug Tip Line at (315)349-8222.
