OSWEGO – The Oswego County Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 to Oswego Bookmobile in support of the 2022 Driving Books Home summer literacy program. Their support this year has allowed the Bookmobile to continue with its mission of “empowering children to be readers.”

Driving Books Home is a seven-week summer literacy program. Children choose a free book and a healthy snack and engage in fun STEAM activities. The Bookmobile also participates in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union’s free Summer Movies in the Park and uses a portion of the donation to have free books on hand related to the movies.  This year OCFCU showed “Encanto” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

Founded in 1975, the Oswego County Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative association with approximately 11,000 members throughout Oswego County.

Oswego Bookmobile is a 501c3 non-profit corporation, funded by community grants and donations. More information is available at the website www.oswegobookmobile.com or on their Facebook page.
