Oswego Fire Department Extinguishes West Utica Street Fire

OSWEGO – Oswego firefighters were called to the scene of a multiple family house fire along West Utica Street in Oswego earlier today.

Menter Ambulance medics discovered the fire and radioed the call to 911. Occupants were reported to be trapped by the fire on the second and thirds floors. First arriving firefighters quickly searched the third floor in an attempt to rescue any occupants inside.

The fire was quickly brought under control. One ambulance medic was transported for an evaluation of smoke inhalation. No occupants were discovered remaining in the dwelling.

Assistance at the scene was received from Minetto and Oswego Town Fire Departments as well as the Oswego Police Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Oswego Police and Fire. Anyone with information about the fire should call Oswego Police at 315-342-8120.
