Oswego Health To Expand Healthcare Services In Central Square

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Health, the region’s healthcare leader, will expand its urgent care and outpatient services to the Central Square community when the health system opens the Central Square Medical Center later this year.

On April 9, Oswego Health purchased the former Lifetime Health Building, at 3045 East Avenue (also known as Route 49) in Central Square using state HEAL NY funds the organization was granted in September 2009.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

“The Oswego Health Board, our physicians, staff and I look forward to introducing our many exceptional healthcare services to the Central Square community,” said Oswego Health President and CEO Ann C. Gilpin. “We are also grateful to our state representatives who recognize Oswego Health as the area’s healthcare leader and made these grant funds possible allowing us to expand services in Central Square.”

Construction plans for the Central Square Medical Center are being finalized.

The facility will be completely renovated.

When completed in the fourth quarter of this year, Oswego Health anticipates that the facility will offer urgent care, medical imaging, lab, and physical therapy services.

In September 2009, Oswego Health, along with Northern Oswego County Health Services and Oswego County Opportunities were collectively awarded $8.34 million in HEAL NY funds to develop an urgent care center in Central Square and to create a primary care network in Oswego County to maintain and improve access to outpatient healthcare services.
