Oswego Man Arrested For DWI, other charges, After Allegedly Fleeing From Police

OSWEGO, NY – On January 1, the Oswego City Police Department arrested Ronald J. Bisnett, 42, of 5432 State Route 104, Oswego.

At approximately 1:11a.m. at East Seneca and Ninth streets Bisnett was observed by police allegedly failing to stop for several stop signs.

Police attempted to stop Bisnett who failed to comply and led police out of the city on East Seneca Street at a high rate of speed, according to the report.

Bisnett struck a snow bank at the intersection of county routes 1 and 63 in Scriba.

While police were giving Bisnett commands to exit the vehicle, Bisnett backed into a patrol car disabling it and again fled, poliec said.

Police located the vehicle Bisnett had been operating off the road at Middle Road and Creamery Road in Scriba.

They followed tracks in the snow and located Bisnett a short time later walking in the roadway.

Bisnett was treated by EMS for injuries from the crash and transported to Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, for non-life threatening injuries.

Bisnett was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd (A Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated (A Misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 4th (A Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving, (Unclassified Misdemeanor) and several other Vehicle and Traffic Violations.

He was issued appearance tickets at Upstate and released from custody with a return court date at Oswego City Court on January 3.
