Oswego Man Charged With Rape

OSWEGO, NY – On Tuesday, at about 4:02 a.m., Oswego Police responded to a reported sexual assault that had just occurred.

A 20-year-old female victim reported to police that at about 3:30 a.m., she accepted a ride from a man that she had just met.

He was supposed to take her home, but instead took her to the south end of Fifth Avenue, a dead end street in the city, where he then forced her to have intercourse, according to police.

Oswego Police, assisted by members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, searched the area for a vehicle matching the description given by the victim.

Within a few hours, police located a vehicle matching the description and identified a possible suspect.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oswego Police arrested Kevin J. Larrabee, 28 years old, of 42 W. Ninth St., Apt. 3, Oswego.

Larrabee has been charged with first-degree rape (B felony) and is currently being held at the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.

He is scheduled to return to Oswego City Court on Aug. 25, at 9:30 a.m.
