Oswego Man Facing Drug Charges

OSWEGO, NY – At approximately 2:51 p.m. on Wednesday, Oswego City Police observed a gray Toyota Corolla motor vehicle in the area of West Ninth and Albany streets, allegedly being operated in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Michael R. Maclean, 27, of 210 W. Third St., Oswego.

Subsequent investigation found Maclean to operating the vehicle while ability impaired by drugs.

A search of the vehicle discovered a quantity of marijuana.

Members of the Oswego City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the Uniform Patrol Division, continued to investigate.

Based on that investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence at 210 W. Third St.

Upon execution of the search warrant, police seized nearly $4,000 in cash, as well as other property including a 50-inch plasma screen television, all alleged to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Maclean was transported to the Oswego City Police Department, where he was processed on charges of criminal possession of marijuana (A misdemeanor), operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs (unclassified misdemeanor) and he was issued traffic tickets for failure to yield right of way, illegal turn signal and no seatbelt, driver.

He was subsequently released on an appearance ticket returnable in Oswego City Court on March 24.
