OSWEGO, NY – At about 6:41 p.m. Friday (Sept. 5), the city of Oswego Police Department was dispatched to the area of East Fourth Street and East Utica Street for a vehicle/pedestrian motor vehicle accident.
Through investigation and witness accounts, it was determined that the pedestrian, Michael H. Plunkett Jr., 58, of Oswego, was crossing in a marked crosswalk when a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Jacob C. Siegel, 21, of Greenlawn, NY, made a left turn from East Fourth Street onto East Utica Street, striking Plunkett Jr.
Michael H. Plunkett Jr. was transported to Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, by Menter Ambulance, with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Siegel was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
