MEXICO – On Saturday, March 26, at 7:17 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 115 Rowe Road in the town of Mexico for a single motor vehicle accident involving possible serious physical injury.
The investigation has revealed a 2016 Dodge pickup was being operated in a northerly direction on Rowe Road when the vehicle left the roadway and over turned multiple times before coming to rest west of the roadway.
The vehicle contained four occupants. All four occupants were transported to University Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, for medical treatment.
Passenger 32-year-old Danielle S. Holden of Mexico remains in treatment, 31-year-old Ashley E. Henderson of Mexico was treated and released.
Rear seated passenger 51-year-old Michael J. Fredette of Oswego was pronounced dead at University Upstate Hospital on March 26.
The operator 51-year-old Douglas B. Horton of Mexico was arrested for driving while intoxicated and is scheduled to appear in the Mexico Town Court at a later date and remains in treatment.
Assisting at the crash scene were members of the New York State Police, Mexico Fire Department, McFee Ambulance and NOCA Ambulance.
The cause of the crash and alcohol involvement remains under investigation.
