OSWEGO, NY – One man was injured and one is behind bars following a fight in downtown Oswego Wednesday.
At about 2:49 a.m. Wednesday, city police responded to the area of West Bridge and Third streets for a reported fight in progress.
Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that a 17-year-old male victim had been stabbed once in the back, causing a puncture wound, police said.
The victim was transported to Oswego Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Police continued the investigation and at about 3:49 a.m., they arrested Kyle T. McConkey, 20, of 73 Falise Drive, Oswego.
He was arraigned on charges of second-degree assault (Class D felony), fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (Class A misdemeanor) and three counts of second-degree menacing (Class A misdemeanor).
McConkey was remanded to Oswego County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
He is to return to court on Sept. 2.
