OSWEGO — The Oswego Marching Buccaneers captured their second consecutive New York State Field Band Conference (NYSFBC) SS2 Class Championship and Governor’s Cup after an undefeated season, according to a release from the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation.

The Buccaneers finished the season with an impressive score of 89.55, earning first place in their class and sweeping all three caption awards: High Music, High Visual and High General Effect.

Marching Band Director Kimberly Miller praised the students, families, volunteers and staff whose collective efforts made the championship possible.

“It’s such an honor for the Marching Buccaneers to earn the SS2 Class Governor’s Cup for the second year in a row! This was the culmination of hundreds of hours of striving for excellence and the dedication of every member, family member, parent volunteer and staff member across nearly six months. They had the best performance of the season, and we couldn’t be more proud of these students for finishing an undefeated season with all of the respect, pride, honor and excellence that it takes to be a Marching Buc!” Miller said.

The back-to-back championship signifies another memorable chapter in the program’s history and reinforces the pride the Marching Buccaneers bring to the Oswego community.
