Oswego Police Announce 2 More Drug Arrests

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City Police Department announce a pair of recent drug arrests.

On Wednesday, at approximately 6:09 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department Anti Crime Team, with the assistance of agents from the United States Border Patrol, executed a narcotics related search warrant at the residence of 30-year-old Matthew J. Solazzo, located at 5895 State Route 104, Apartment A1 in the town of Scriba.

The execution of the search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately 7.4 ounces of mushrooms, containing the controlled substance psilocybin; 59 grams of marihuana; US currency and other items indicative of illegal drugs sales and possession.

As a result of the investigation, Solazzo was arrested and charged with one count of each of:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, with Intent to Sell (B Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of Marihuana 4th degree (A Misdemeanor)
  • Unlawfully Growing Cannabis (A Misdemeanor)

Solazzo was arraigned by acting Oswego County Court Judge James Metcalf and remanded to the
Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bail bond.

Solazzo was to appear in Scriba Town Court today (Sept. 1).

This investigation remains active and further charges and/or arrests are possible.

On Aug. 29, 2011 at approximately 1:36 p.m., members of the Oswego City Police Department Anti Crime Team arrested 28-year-old Christopher J. Jodway, of 11 Kingdom Road, Fulton.

Jodway’s arrest was the result of search warrant conducted at his then residence, 508 E. Broadway in the city of Fulton, on April 13.

Upon execution of the search warrant, Jodway was found to illegally possess 59 tablets of a prescription narcotic, according to police.

Jodway was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 4th degree (C Felony).

He was arraigned by Fulton City Court Judge Jerome A. Mirabito and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bail bond.

Jodway was scheduled to reappear in Fulton City Court today (Sept. 1).

Oswego City Police were assisted by members of the Fulton City Police Department during this investigation.
