OSWEGO, NY – At approximately 8:59 a.m. today (Feb. 25), Oswego City Police responded to a disabled vehicle complaint on Mitchell Street, in the area of the Oswego Industrial Park.
Upon arrival, the responding officer observed an unresponsive man at the scene.
Oswego City Fire Department EMS personnel responded and transported the man to Oswego Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Oswego City Police Department has identified the victim as 68-year-old Wayne D. Merrill of Minetto.
The Oswego City Police Department continues to work with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death, although at this time it appears to be the result of a medical condition suffered while driving.
