OSWEGO – On August 23, 2024, at about 12:05AM, the Oswego Police Department was dispatched to an eastside residence for a robbery in progress. It was reported to police that three (3) male suspects had arrived in a vehicle at the residence armed with handguns. A physical altercation occurred with the males and multiple victims at the residence who were threatened at gun point. Ultimately, the victims turned over money, marijuana and one of the victims had their vehicle stolen. The three males fled the scene in the stolen vehicle and the vehicle they had previously arrived in. Officers on scene immediately put out vehicle descriptions to surrounding agencies. A short time later, in the city of Fulton, Fulton police observed one of the vehicles involved in the incident and conducted a traffic stop. Contact was made with the operator of the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, officers observed what was believed to be a handgun inside the vehicle. At that point, the driver refused officer commands and fled from the scene. A pursuit of the vehicle ensued with the vehicle being stopped in the city of Syracuse with the assistance of the New York State Police, and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. Two males were taken into custody and transported back to the Oswego Police Department.
At about 12:30PM, the reported stolen vehicle was located at Champlain Commons housing complex on City Line Rd. Oswego Police investigated and at about 5:34PM, the third male suspect was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, Devin C. Johnson, age 26 of Granby, Zaquest A. Robinson age 21 of Syracuse and Mykial-Anthony O DeJesus age 23, of Utica were arrested and charged with the alleged offenses:
Robbery in the 1st degree a class B Felony
Burglary in the 1st degree a class B Felony
Criminal use of a firearm a class B Felony
Grand larceny a class E Felony (2 counts)
Menacing in the 2nd degree a class A misdemeanor
All three were transported to the Oswego County CAP court for arraignment.
Mr. Robinson was remanded to the Oswego County Jail on no bail due back to Oswego City Court on August 28, 2024, at 9:30am.
Mr. Johnson was remanded to the Oswego County Jail on $75,000/$150,000 bail due back to Oswego City Court on August 29, 2024.
Mr. DeJesus was remanded to the Oswego County Jail on $10,000/$20,000 bail due back to Oswego City Court on September 12, 2024.
This is being investigated as an isolated incident with the investigation ongoing. A handgun was recovered.
