Arrests Rise At Harborfest

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City Police Department wishes to announce the following overview of the events that took place during Harborfest 2008 (Thursday July 24, 2008 – 5 p.m. to Sunday July 27 – 11 p.m.) as compared to Harborfest 2005, 2006, and 2007 (same time period).

On July 25, the United States Customs and Border Protection helicopter, that was in Oswego assisting law enforcement during the Friday and Saturday of Harborfest, identified an apparent marijuana grow field located between East Seneca Street and State Route 104, east of George Street in the city of Oswego.

Investigators from the Oswego City Police Department worked with US Customs and Border Protection to locate and seize approximately 60 marijuana plants.
