Oswego Police Investigate Reported Sexual Assault

OSWEGO, NY – On Saturday morning, a female victim reported to Oswego Police that she had been sexually assaulted during the early morning hours while walking in the area of West Seneca Street at West Sixth Street.

According to the 22-year-old victim, she had been walking by herself on West Seneca Street near Sixth at approximately 3 a.m. when she was reportedly approached by a black male who engaged her in a brief conversation before allegedly forcing himself upon her.

The victim told police that she struck the man during the attack and was able to safely flee the area.

She didn’t suffer any injuries as a result of the attack, according to police.

Oswego Police have increased patrols in the area and are continuing their investigation.

The suspect is described as; a black male, 18-22 years of age, approximately
5’10”- 5’11,” last seen possibly wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a black flat brim hat.
