Oswego police made one arrest the day the incident was reported and have been conducting an investigation to determine who else was involved.

Police have identified one of the other persons as 39-year-old Mark J. Hewitt.

A warrant has been issued for Hewitt’s arrest in connection with his alleged involvement in the March 21 incident.

Hewitt faces charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and first-degree gang assault (all Class B felonies) and second-degree menacing (a Class A misdemeanor).

Investigators have been attempting to locate Hewitt but have been unsuccessful.

Hewitt is described as a white male, 6’01”, 240 pounds, blue eyes and brown hair.

According to investigators, Hewitt has apparently fled the area and is currently on parole.

Investigators also caution that Hewitt reportedly made comments that concerned them about his intentions if confronted by law enforcement.

That, coupled with the nature and severity of the crime, indicates that Hewitt should be considered possibly armed and dangerous.

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Hewitt they are asked to contact the Oswego City Police Department at: (315) 343-1212 to speak with an officer or (315) 342-8131 – Crime/Drug Tip Line or they can E-mail: [email protected]
