OSWEGO – The Oswego Speedway has been added to the sites for free milk and food distribution on Tuesday, June 23.

Hours for the distribution will run approximately from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Oswego Speedway located at 300 E. Albany St. in Oswego.

The distribution site will have more than 4,000 gallons of milk and 25,000 pounds of food available for people at the drive-thru event. Each vehicle will receive one 10 pound box of meat and one 22 pound box of produce, along with two gallons of milk while supplies last.

The event is drive-through only, with drivers riding along the track to pick up food supplies. Walk-ups will not be permitted. No registration or paperwork is required for this distribution.

To ensure the safety and health of everyone involved in the distribution, all drivers and passengers must remain in their vehicles. Drivers will be prompted to open their trunk to receive milk and food items. If vehicles do not have a trunk, drivers will be prompted to open their windows.

The American Dairy Association North East is partnering with Upstate Niagara Cooperative, the Food Bank of Central New York, the office of Assemblyman Will Barclay, the Oswego County Legislature, and community partners to facilitate distribution of the food and milk at these drive through events.

Through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), government-funded grants have been made available to food banks and community organizations to help provide much needed food to those in need.

On behalf of dairy farmers, ADANE is making an effort to help distribute 200,000 gallons of milk during June (National Dairy Month) with the help of milk processors, local food banks and community organizations.
