OSWEGO – The contractor for the W. First Street Project is scheduled to work at the intersection of W. First Street and Utica Street today, June 12, 2026, to address three utility structures. This work will involve milling and replacing asphalt, with all work expected to be completed the same day.
If weather conditions permit, the following items are expected to be completed by the end of the day on June 12 (today):
• Adjust structures that have been identified as being set either too high or too low.
• Repair areas that were rejected due to ponding and water pooling.
• Water and reseed locations where grass establishment has been unsuccessful.
Weather permitting, the following activities are scheduled for the week of June 15, 2026:
• Clean the remaining storm structures.
• Clean the laydown yard and begin demobilization activities.
• Install permanent pavement markings.
• Adjust signage to reflect the revised striping plan.
• Install the traffic signal preemption system (June 17–19, 2026).
As always, please continue to exercise caution when in the area, as this remains an active construction site.
As this project is nearing the end, the City of Oswego remains very appreciative of the public’s patience as throughout the life of this project.
