Pair Arrested on Assault Weapons Charges

OSWEGO, NY – On Thursday at about 5:10 p.m. the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti- Crime Team (ACT), with the assistance of the Special Response Team (SRT) arrested two individuals for illegally possessing and further selling two loaded assault weapons to an undercover police officer.

Oswego City Police gave this account as to what transpired during the investigation and subsequent arrests:

During the afternoon hours of Thursday August 30th, 2012, an undercover police officer set up a deal to purchase two assault type weapons from the below listed defendants in exchange for US currency.

Several hours later the defendants met with the undercover police officer in a parking area, just north of Leto Island, along State Route 481 in the City of Oswego.

The defendants proceeded to sell one loaded GSG (German Sporting Guns) .22 caliber assault rife with an attached silencer and one loaded Izmash  Saiga .223 caliber assault weapon to the undercover police officer in exchange for US currency.

After the undercover police officer purchased the weapons the defendants were taken into custody without incident by members of the Special Response Team.

As a result of the investigation Kiel S. Dudley, 21, of 7099 Coventry Road, South East Syracuse NY and Anthony T. Longo, 21, of 3944 Merganser Drive, Liverpool NY were arrested and charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, loaded firearm – Class C Felony, 2 counts each
Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon 3rd degree- Class D Felony, 2 counts each
Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd degree – Class D Felony, 2 counts each
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Silencer- Class D Felony, 1 count each

Dudley and Longo are currently being held at the Oswego City Police Department awaiting arraignment on the charges.
